Decades at Space519
I stopped into one of my favorite spots in the city, Space519, on Friday to get an early peek at the goods from Decades, a spectactular luxury vintage and consignment shop in Hollywood. Charming Decades owners Christos Garkinos and Cameron Silver are known for garnering immaculate vintage and modern gems from auctions, celebs and stylists, and they gave Chicagoans an opportunity to score a curated selection of their enviable pieces this weekend. For their three day visit, they brought an amazing selection of vintage clothing, bags and shoes, including a huge rack of Chanel dresses and jackets. I fell in love with a Chanel dress, but then I saw a Prada jacket that had my name all over it. I could only browse for a few minutes (had to relieve the sitter) and left with my new jacket, but still dreaming about the Chanel piece.
Don't miss the new reality show called Dukes of Melrose, where Christos and Cameron give us a glimpse of their glamorous lives as they contiue to grow their empire, score new clients and beautiful treasures. If you want a taste of what's to come this season, check it out here. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow night for episode 3. Drama, A-list celebrities and gorgous clothes and baubles guaranteed.

Oscar Fashion, by Tina
The Oscars are my Super Bowl. Or rather, the E! red carpet is. This year, the ladies did not disappoint. It was difficult to pinpoint a worst dressed - there was no Bjork moment. There were many very well dressed stars but Naomi, Jessica and Charlize were my favorites! Naomi Watts in gunmetal Armani Prive looked spectacular. From the hair, to the make-up, to the perfect fitting dress, she rocked it. Jessica Chastain also in Armani Prive looked beautiful. The dressed matched her hair and the pop of red on her lips was all she needed to avoid looking washed out. She glowed! It was by far her best look this entire awards season. Charlize Theron looked like a goddess in white Dior. The cut of the dress was elegant and right for her body. In contrast, Jennifer Lawrence, also in white Dior, looked ok. The ball gown was too bridal for me. Given her young age, I would have loved her in something more edgy with color (more in line with her personality). I hope the folks at Dior get it right next time. Another favorite was Zoe Saldana in a lilac dress with ombré at the bottom. Anne Hathaway's Prada dress was pretty but ill-fitting and she said it was a last minute decision. It was a dead ringer for Gwyneth Paltrow's pink Ralph Lauren Oscar dress. I'm not sure why her team of stylists did not remind her. As for worst dressed, it has to go to Kristen Stewart. It looked like she changed from her sweats and put on a dress - any dress. Her hair was disheveled and her face looked make-up free. We get it Kristen - you're not a fashion girl, you're too cool for school - some times you have to just embrace it, especially if you want people to go to your movies! Pick a look that works and stick with it.

Tribune photo shoot at Tina’s apartment
Last Friday, the Tribune came to photograph our house. I was out running errands in the morning and when I returned, the house had been transformed with flowers in purple and white, and every single vase, pot and tray I owned was used, arranged and rearranged in the house. I kept thinking how do I replicate this every day of the year! Our interior designer also brought in a few new pieces, such as an enormous white pot that he filled with flowering branches. It was also very interesting to watch the photographer at work. My seven year old son became his assistant. He hid behind our couch (look closely at the photo) and whenever the photographer's flash went off he had to turn our floor lamp on and off. He also took a few candid shots of the boys and me. My seven year old played on the marble foyer with his "wrestling guys," my two year lined up his Mickie Mouse and Disney figurines, and I was typing on my iPhone. That's how we roll!!! I can't wait to see the story next month!
