The Perfumer
Michel Roudnitska manages Art et Parfum, a small company dedicated to the creation of the highest quality fragrances, using traditional, time-honored methods, and the finest raw materials. Located in the fragrant hills of Cabris, France, near Grasse, the center of historic perfumery, Art et Parfum is a private, family-owned business know for its focus on quality over quantity. Michel is a second generation perfumer who grew up surrounded by inspiration for what would become his calling. Michel’s father, legendary perfumer Edmond Roudnitska, founded the company in 1946. Edmond’s creation, Christian Dior’s “Eau Sauvage”, is reputed to be the best selling men’s frangrance in the last 25 years. In addition to his work as a perfumer, MIchel is an accomplished photographer, painter and digital artist who has created many celebrated “olfactive shows”. in 2000, Michel created Noir Epices for Frederic Malle’s Editions de Parfum, while continuing to serve the most exclusive Fragrance Houses, including Christian Dior, Marcel Rocas and Hermes.
Jessica had always dreamed of creating a fragrance line, but knew that she needed to find the right perfumer to help bring her vision to life. Jessica and Michel collaborated over the course of several years and several visits to Michel’s beautiful studio in Cabris, France, to create Ellie and Ellie Nuit.
